Pierre GALIO
Head of the Responsible Consumption Department of ADEME, the French Agency for Ecological Transition
Graduated from the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d'Aérotechnique” (ENSMA) and holder of a Diploma of Advanced Studies in energy, Pierre GALIO has spent his entire career at ADEME. Integrated into the Industry Department, he accompanies and supports R&D projects relating to the energy optimization of industrial processes before accompanying, within the new Customer Department, economic players in their cross-cutting approach to sustainable development.
He became head of the partnerships unit in the communication department (“Planète Gagnante” club), developed tools and actions to mobilize the public (European week for waste reduction, digital impact studies, creation of the Coach Carbone™ ) and has been involved for several years in the theme of sport & ecological transition (environmental program for the 2007 Rugby World Cup™ and Roland Garros, support for sports federations, etc.).
In 2011, he became head of the Waste Planning and Observation Department, and then headed the Responsible Consumption Department. This department deals with issues of waste prevention (environmental labels, reuse, food waste, avoidance of corporate waste, etc.), the environmental impacts of consumption (carbon footprint, resource consumption, etc.) and its structuring elements (advertising) - while promoting other development models (economy of functionality, sobriety).
