
Philippe SIMAY
Philosopher
Philippe Simay is a lecturer in Philosophy at École Nationale Supérieure d’architecture de Paris–Belleville, co-founder of the review Métropolitiques, in charge of urban and territorial issues, and presenter of the documentary series « Habiter le monde » on Arte . Following initial work on the representations of urban modernity, his research focuses on sensitive approaches to the city, ecological living and the practices of architectural and urban projects inscribed in the fields of the circular, social and solidarity economy.
He has published Capitales de la modernité. Walter Benjamin et la ville (éditions de L’Éclat), Le choc des métropoles : Simmel, Kracauer, Benjamin (with Stéphane Füzesséry, éditions de l’Éclat, 2008), Droit de cité (PUF, 2009) et Habiter le monde (Actes Sud, 2019) and La Ferme du Rail. Pour une ville écologique et solidaire (with Clara Simay, Actes Sud, 2022).
