Mundiya KEPANGA

Mundiya KEPANGA

Chief of the Huli tribe and primary forest advocate of international stature - Papua

Chief of the Hulis tribe in Papua New Guinea, Mundiya Kepanga was the main character in the original film “Frères des Arbres” which gave rise to the “Our Forests” series. He has now become an internationally recognized defender of primary forests, regularly being invited around the world by museums, local authorities, and educational establishments, to talk about forest protection and the respect for indigenous communities. Given his current international standing and in view of the many threats facing forests around the world, Mundiya takes very seriously the role he can play in changing people’s minds on a global level.
