
Mathilde BOISSEAU
Vine and wine manager of Maison Hennessy
Mathilde Boisseau is a graduate of the Purpan School of Agricultural Engineering in in Toulouse and holds a National Oenology Diploma from the University of Bordeaux. After completing an internship at Maison Hennessy in 2008 as part of her studies, Mathilde began her career as an R&D engineer at Pera-Pellenc, where she was in charge of trials at various wine estates in France, Switzerland and Spain.
She built up her experience in vineyards and winemaking, working alongside vineyard managers at André Lurton in Pessac Léognan before joining the Sourdes oenology laboratory and consultancy in Podensac. Through this role, she became well acquainted with various different types of wine estate. In 2011, Mathilde became Assistant Technical Director for Château Lynch Bages, a Grand Cru Classé from Médoc, and Château Ormes de Pez, both part of the family-run Cazes group. She then joined Maison Hennessy in summer 2014 as Head of Hennessy vines cultivation. In this role, Mathilde managed operations across 180 hectares of Hennessy vines, as well as the winegrowing aspects of the wine-making process.
She also supervised the implementation of R&D projects regarding quality, sustainable winegrowing and oenology at La Bataille test site and managed vine and wine projects for the newly created network of winegrower partners.
Appointed Vine and Wine Director since October 1, 2020, Mathilde's missions are to:
- define and implement the technical support strategy for our partners both in terms of quality and the development of increasingly sustainable viticulture
- define and implement R&D programs to meet future production challenges. Companion Taster in the Tasting Committee since 2016, she is confirmed Member of the Tasting Committee in July 2019.
