Jade VERGNES
Dancer, photographer and founder of the Collectif Minuit 12
Jade Vergnes is a dancer and photographer. She places the body and natural environments at the center of her research. She uses the body as a raw material for creation and makes it her interface of sensitive knowledge of the world, her mode of discussion. It becomes a gateway to the observation and understanding of life.
She realizes danced performances in the heart of natural environments where she is guided by the wind, the curve of a mountain or the lines of the landscape. She also photographs bodies and their interaction with a given natural environment. In particular, she created the nude photographic series "Les nanas de la plage Sauvage" in the heart of the Camargue. In 2021, she co-founded the Collectif Minuit 12, which brings together dancers and multidisciplinary artists to create shows, danced images and performances that explore our sensibilities to nature, ecological disasters and political resistance.
She weaves together art and activism for various projects. She is co-directing the documentary "Why We Fight" (to be released in the fall of 2022) in which she addresses the issue of political action through dance. She also choreographed the short film "Generations" as well as several performances (in front of the Total headquarters for STOP EACOP, the UN Summit on the Oceans in Lisbon and for the March for the Future at the Place de la République).
