Candice MAHOUT

Head of the Culture Department of BFMTV

Candice Mahout is a French journalist born in 1975. In high school, she had a passion for theater and spent her Wednesday afternoons in movie theaters.

After her baccalaureate, she entered the ESCP (École supérieure de commerce de Paris). During her studies, Candice Mahout was very attracted by the world of image and did an internship at LCI, where she met David Pujadas. She joined his team to prepare the Grand Journal. Following his advice, after her internship, she passed the competitive exam and joined the Centre de formation des journalistes (CFJ) in Paris to become a journalist.

After several reports for the CAPA agency, Candice Mahout worked with Daniel Schneidermann for the program Arrêt sur images on France 5, before joining M6 and Guy Lagache's business magazine Capital.

In November 2005, the journalist participated in the launch of a new information channel, BFMTV. First a columnist on Première Édition until 2008, she then presented Showtime, a magazine dedicated to cultural news. In 2009, her show was integrated into Thomas Sotto's 8 o'clock news.

Currently head of BFMTV's Culture department, Candice Mahout covers major cultural events live (from the Goncourt Prize to the Cannes Film Festival). She is also a daily contributor to Live Toussaint and Dej Info on all social issues, and she regularly hosts the program "BFMTV répond à vos questions", which answers all viewers' questions about current affairs with the help of numerous specialists.
