Barbara Pompili is MP for the 2nd constituency of the Somme and former Minister for Ecological Transition. Born June 13, 1975 in Bois-Bernard in Pas-de-Calais, a graduate of the Lille Institute of Political Studies, Barbara Pompili began as press relations officer for Noël Mamère during his candidacy for the presidential election in 2002, then parliamentary collaborator of Yves Cochet.

She was elected MP for the Somme in 2012, and co-chaired the environmental group in the National Assembly from 2012 to 2015. She was appointed Secretary of State to Ségolène Royal, in charge of Biodiversity from 2016 to 2017. Re-elected MP for a second term in 2017, she took over the presidency of the Commission for Sustainable Development and Regional Planning of the National Assembly.

Appointed Minister for Ecological Transition in the Jean Castex government in 2020, she is notably responsible for the Climate and Resilience Bill resulting from the work of the Citizens' Climate Convention. In 2022, she was re-elected for a third time.
