Alain Baraton was born on September 10, 1957 in La Celle-Saint-Cloud (Yvelines). He joined the Park of Versailles as an assistant gardener in 1976. A few years later, in 1982, he became the head gardener of the Domaine national de Trianon and the Grand Parc de Versailles. Since 2009, he is also in charge of the Domaine de Marly. Every week, he shares his passion for gardening with France Inter listeners in his column on Saturday and Sunday mornings. He is the national correspondent of the French Academy of Agriculture and the author of numerous books on the themes of gardening, plants and Versailles.
