For the past 75 years, UNESCO has led the way and continues to work for living together in peace on Earth and for the reconciliation of humans with each other and with the rest of the living world.
Relying on its unique network of World Heritage sites, biosphere reserves and global geoparks, where nature and culture are mutually reinforcing and interlinked through multiple practices and experiences based on scientific knowledge, such as the work of IPBES (Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services), UNESCO is at the crossroads of knowledge, cultures, values and consciences.
In the face of the many crises we are experiencing, this session will give a voice to those who, alongside UNESCO and in many fields of action, are working to build a more sustainable world, to conserve biodiversity and use it sustainably, to reconcile humans with the living world, and whose activities help to strengthen the relationship between nature and culture.
