The climate is going crazy, life is collapsing, and war is breaking out on our continent. These events have an impact on our morale, which can translate into anger and helplessness.
Yet, despite these misfortunes, there is one thing that cannot be taken away from us: our ability to create joy in life. In these troubled times, joie de vivre remains the only valid posture to adopt, the most powerful antidote to the negativity of the world.
But joie de vivre does not fall from the sky. It is a choice, a victory over repetition, gloom and hate. It opens the way to other philosophies of life that are more supportive, more resilient, more sober. The joy of living gives us the feeling of regaining control over our destiny, the strength to make choices in accordance with our deepest values, and the energy to improve our lot and that of those around us.
In this way, it is a powerful lever for action and commitment: "Wherever there is joy, there is creation," wrote the philosopher Henri Bergson. Cultivating joy in life requires courage and strength of will. Fortunately, life continues to offer a thousand opportunities to savor what is within everyone's reach: a board game, a laugh, a good beer shared with friends, a piece of music, a walk in the woods, a sunset... The good news is that we all have the power to nurture our own joie de vivre!
