The world is not ready to face the climate challenge, according to the United Nations. But if societies do not become more prepared, they will bear the brunt of climate disruption.
In a 2019 report, the Global Commission on Adaptation pointed to five areas where significant investments of around $1.8 trillion could generate four times the benefits: adapting infrastructure, improving agriculture, protecting mangroves, protecting water resources, and building early warning systems.
So why wait? What are we missing to immediately implement a whole arsenal of adaptation measures and life changes?
Launched this year by the EGIS Foundation, the international student innovation challenge "Team up for climate" aims to stimulate the creativity of students from all over the world in the face of climate change. The international award ceremony during the Earth University will be held during this session.
