23. School in the 21st century: how to teach children to grow up in connection with nature?

Friday, November 25 • 16h30 > 18h00

"Outdoor schooling" is a real craze, as shown by the Caminando experience in the Drôme. A recent study has underlined the close link between school success and contact with nature. The benefits of nature classes in terms of well-being and health are therefore no longer in question.

Teachers are encouraged to take their students out into nature, pediatricians emphasize the benefits of contact with nature for children's health, and even the French Ministry of Education supports the local initiatives that are flourishing throughout France.

While many experiences of such schools have existed for a long time in other countries, how can we perpetuate this movement in France and prevent it from becoming a mere fad? How can this form of learning be designed and articulated with all types of teaching? More broadly, how can we redefine the pedagogical relationship between teachers and students? The University of the Earth launches a call for a school that connects children and nature!
